The Manage Roles section is used to create a hierarchy of sales territories, channels, or any other type of hierarchy structure that your organization requires.
The example below illustrates roles as sales territories, but the names and structure can be fully tailored to any organization or sales channel. Examples of possible hierarchies are sales territories, product lines, company divisions, job titles, different account structures, business units, distribution channels, or any other way that access to IBOs needs to be controlled.
Roles restrict user access to IBOs
Roles restrict user access to IBOs, enabling a management structure to be created. Each user can view the IBOs that belong to all other users below them in the hierarchy structure. Each user will also be able to see IBOs belonging to other users of the same role.
Each user will have access to IBOs based on the roles they are assigned to in Assign Roles. Click here to see how to assign users to the roles you have created.
The specific IBO permissions (View, Create, Edit, Delete, Export) that are set for each user in Users, will determine what that user can do with the IBOs that they have access to.
Roles are used in the Global Filter
The Global Filter is a powerful feature that allows IBO Lists, Planner Views, and Forecasts to be filtered according to the roles set here in Manage Roles. This allows managers to quickly see what’s going on at each level of the hierarchy.
Move, Create, Rename or Delete Roles
To adjust the role hierarchy structure, roles can be moved by clicking and dragging a role into a new position. When moved, a role will take any sub-roles with it to its new position.
To create a new role, click Create Role, edit the name, and hit enter.
To rename or delete a role, high-light the role by clicking on it, then click the “Rename Role” or “Delete Role” button.
